Braddock Lofts is a single family townhome community located in the northwest quadrant of Old Town Alexandria, also known as the Parker-Gray Historic District named for the Parker Gray School which opened in 1920. The school was named in commemoration of John Parker and Sarah Gray who had been principals of two segregated schools during that later part of the 19th Century.
Braddock Lofts was established in 2002 and is made up of 40 residences. The homes are designed in Industrial Loft architectural style that combines a bold and unique brick and concrete exterior with luxury amenities inside of each home. Each home features high ceilings and large windows to provide a spacious environment and was the first townhome community in Old Town to feature rooftop terraces which are now commonly found in new construction, luxury urban townhomes throughout the DC area.
Braddock Lofts is located in the epicenter of new development going on nearby the Braddock Road Metro Station which is just two blocks west of Braddock Lofts. Dramatic change has occurred with the construction of new residential and commercial projects either currently being constructed or completed. One block north of the community, the former site of the Belle Pre Bottle Factory has been transformed into two apartment buildings surrounding a public plaza with a commissioned sculpture. It has 360 apartments and 9,700 square feet of retail space. Across from the townhomes on N. Henry St. is a new condo building called the Aiden Old Town which is currently under construction. The Aiden will feature 94 luxury one and two bedroom homes.
